PK's "The Ghost E.P."

Well, its Feb 1st and I am listening to M83. Here's is a review for PK's first e.p.

As much for this band, this band is from San Luis Obspio and are a powerpop band but in this e.p. they sound more like "Taking Back Sunday". Now if you were in 2007 and 2008 during this band's timeline then you would have got their 2nd e.p. "Casting Shadows". This e.p. is very very very very different from the 2nd e.p. If you were to listen to this e.p. after you listen to "CS" then you would hate or love it.

For one, I have no idea how old the members are in this band so I'm guessing they are around 20-22 years old. So they were 16 years old at the making this e.p. and were probably into "Taking Back Sunday" first album "Tell All Your Friends" cause it sounds like it.

Most of the songs are short and sweet and some contain some hardcore back-up vocals. It is too emo for my taste and I attend to stay away from emo shit unless I am going thru something that is emotiomal then I do need PK and other stuff, its like drugs to me.

I give this e.p. a 2 out of 5. As much I love PK's 2nd e.p. and they are great live and they get the young people going and are nice guys. This e.p. does not do wonders for me as much as Sigur Ros's new album Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust which people are raving about it. That album is nothing to me and has nothing to do with PK.

Album Review: HEABUA's "Sir" e.p.

Heabua is a band from L.A. and are a kick ass duo when playing live.

There newest e.p. "Sir" is a homage to the cat and mouse "Tom and Jerry". There is a few good songs on the e.p. but can be distracting when trying to play "Road Rash". I mean I was playing that game and I kept crashing while listening to this e.p.

The band live is truely an amazing time and is better. If they come to your town, go see them. It will be better then listening to Jack Johnson. Come on, we know you like that shit.

I give it a 3 out of 5 since it is a e.p.

Venue Check! 3rd Coast Cafe In Santa Maria

3rd Coast Cafe is a small restaurant in Santa Maria that has a small stage in the back. It has a bar for all the legal people. It has a nice feel to it. You can go get a drink and relax on the soft chairs they have while local musicians play their stuff. 3rd Coast Cafe is for small acoustic shows or maybe electioc shows that are not annoying

The Vertex (12-12-08)

The Vertex was being hosted by Chirs Linter (guitarist for the Awaken The Ghost) as a benefit for Afterfall's frontman/guitarist, Cody Mello, after he had lost his leg in accident. There was a total of 14 bands. The First to open was Songs for Samuel and Afterall for last (I don't know since I left after From The Top killed it for me). There were some bands that I went to see and bands that I have first time see and bands that i wished I never see. Awaken the ghost, monster's eats the pilot, songs for samuel, hella sick tight, the might fine and callista were the bands that put great proformances hence that monsters didn't do me wonders like before which sucked for me. The last band that I had seen at this show was From the top. I am not a big fan of pop punk...what so ever. I like to test myself to see how long can I stand a band of a genre that I don't like, I had passed it without killing myself. From the top (or Over The Top) sounded like they were playing the same song over and over again. Now, the Vertex is part of a church and is Value Property to the church and if they tell not to do something, do as they said or suffer. FTT did not respect the rules and were disrespectful to the venue, I don't care if you don't believe in god or not but repespect someone property. People were jumping around like crazy people and starting fighting. A true real band would stop playing and tell the person to stop what they doing or get off the stage. Like warped tour, if you break a rule, you off the tour.
