When I first listen to "In Which St.Wolfgang Meets The Devil (such a long title for a folk song), I felt that I was on a train to the county of nashville, and like the low fi of the song, it felt like old fashion country song like Johnny Cash but without the Hard voice, Morgan's voice is a nice soft voice.
Then Of course after feeling like I was on a train the song "Climb Board" was about trains.
"Fill My Head With Sunbeams", Morgan has a more mature sounding voice in this 2:09 and comes with "A Bird and A Wire", the hit of this album (if this was a really album out in the market, this would the single), feels like a song from Juno, a very beaufitul song, they should played this song in that movie at the end, fuck that last song they played.
After "ABAAW" comes "The Crane" which is my fav of his songs, its very soft, reminds me of times of my days. I rememember when he played this song at "Motionz" July 27, and it was perfect since it was at a nosie loud place and the loudness of Motionz and the softness of this song mixed in well.
"Jupiter" one of his early songs, has epic drums in it, type of drums I liked, and drums and harmonica work really well together. I don't think this song would sound cool without those. And For once, I could hear bass.
Comes In "We were airplanes" reminds me of clouds, no really, I could see clouds and me (in first person view) flying through them. He had said that song sounded bad, and it didn't.
"Seventeen Flowers", dude, when this song is played live, its epic. And when he said "I hold these Seventeen Flowers on this dying", I kinda wish I did that to my ex.
"Mathematics" is the only song that i dislike.
And The Final Song of my trip to Nashille is a great closing song to a album, I loved the piano melody in the background.
And that's the end of the 33 min and 28 sec (not counting the "Untitled song"). The only thing is that I wish that Morgan would added "Broken Bones", that's sound is great, both on the guitar and mandolin, if he would added that song, this album would be more greater.
alot of people had said that Morgan Eros sounded like early "Bright Eyes" and he really doesn't like "Bright eyes" and judging by my music type (dude, I know what Bright eyes sounds like, and he's emo) morgans sounds like a mix between Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash
I give "Lucky Stars" a 4 and half out of 5, this is proally the best folk album ever written by 16 year old kid, period.

The Vertex Show (10-10-08)

It been a week since this show happen
Proally the best show I ever been too. The way the line up was and how each artist and band build each show to the best last act: Adam Passon/Briertone. I felt that I was at a concert that I paid about 50 bucks to get a ticket but this show only cost 6 bucks and kick ass, it was the best 6 bucks I ever spend on a show.
Lakes Played a new song "The Heart Is An Anchor" which was good and everyone screaming like Indians in the beginning of "Indian Lover".
The Adam Passion/Briertone show was very deep and mindblowing, each song had a blast of emotion, the lap steels and volion added beautiful sounds to the guitars, the pianos of the songs were very soft. And "Running on Faith" had an awesome lead. Around the 3rd or 4th song, the crowed was handed out glass bottles and wooded stick to create a beat, I was creating a beat. The Final song was proally one of the best closing songs for shows.
It was uplifting and its very hard for me to put in words

Awaken The Ghost really does Awaken You

Awaken The Ghost is a band from San Luis Obispo,
History
Formed by Chris Lintner (also co-founder for Wild Wild Fest) in Aug of 2006 and later on (of July 2007-July 2008) had members. In 2007, Awaken The Ghost had Four Members, Two Guitar players, one bass player, and one drummer. They played pretty sick music and played 6 shows of course of time until drummer, Marc, left the band hanging, not finding a new drummer until July 2008. During the between time of finding drummers, the band when in to different projects. They had thought they found their drummer in Marcn/April but the drummer never return the call (I know this for a fact since I knew who the drummer was). They had found a drummer in late july named Matt and soon were join.
As of now, It is only Chris Lintner doing the project and he is doing a pretty good damn job with the new song "Enclosed".
Sound
The Sound of Awaken The Ghost hails through Post Rock and Rock. The beats are solid as well as the guitars sound beautiful.
The Songs that I know of: (some of these are not on the player)
"I wrote this song in 94": great beat, but I did not like Arise Thy Specter "The Power Metal Tribute to Awaken the Ghost" "Slay the Dragon? What The Fuck?" and the guitar stays in your head forever and when you think it in your head, it will not go away.
"Valete": one of my favtorie songs by them. This song is beautiful and epic, great solo towards the end, great breakdown chorus, everything about this song is great and is truly a epic.
"Song 3": If Awaken The Ghost Had a album, this would been a great opener.
"Enclosed": The Comeback of Awaken The Ghost as Chris himself wrote this song and it is very awesome, it truly makes you think about things and people speaking in the background is really great.
Pretty much Awaken The Ghost is great band and I gain respect to this band, at first I didn't know about Post Rock music since I heard this band back Oct 2007 and didn't qutie understand but Awaken The Ghost truly does Awaken The Soul and Mind.

Motionz Show 10-12-08

Bands: Callista, Skykillers, and The Weeds.
Well, I went to this show because I was bored, I had plan on it, but was kinda lazy to go but then I thought about that I had nothing to do and didn't want to play music.
So, I know Amanda from Skykillers so I came to see her and her band (who kick ass) play.
When I arrive, the show hadn't started yet, The Weeds were late and Amanda had to play first. But the one thing that wasted time was The Big Ass P.A. and bunch of mics that Callista had, they mic everything, the drum set, the bass amp, everything. And Motionz is small even know its a Laser Tag Place but the whole room for shows is small.
Anyways, Skykillers went on, did a 9 track set (well, I wasn't counting) played two covers (of I know of). The Funny thing that Amanda said was "Back In 1998, I was in this band, and we had a big hit" (She is talking about Garbage's "I Think I'm Paranoid") and someone shouted out "Liar!" and she said "No Really." pretty much Garbage miss out on Amanda. She does do better version then Garbage, no really she does since she is singing the words and playing the guitar all together. And Amanda ended her show with "School" by Nirvana in honor of formally band name "Nirvana Cow"
Callista's set was pretty much good but the words, the words by Evan are too emotonal, I hear the word "Beautiful" three times in 3 different songs". But I did like the new song they did and the last song. The Music they do is very beautiful, I like the music more then the words
The Weeds are pretty much awesome, have a very old style sound, using old guitars, amps, and my fav: guitar sildes. The Weeds are fun band to watch.
Pretty much the Motionz show was awesome, all the bands were awesome. I'm glad that Motionz cares about the music and the bands cause there's alot of good bands out there.
